Hi! I’m Mark, a recovering software engineer. My day job is with Maison Miru, where I help out with everything from tech to marketing to the occasional manual labor. Growing up, nobody would have expected me to be a fashion executive, and the look of this site confirms that.
In early 2020, we launched Maison Miru Guides, a WordPress site where we could unleash our creative potential for supplemental content for the business (Shopify blogging support is limited). I knew nothing about WordPress and it was a fascinating journey to ramp up on it. I made a bunch of missteps along the way and intend to use this blog to tell my cautionary tale. This blog itself, hosted on a service where I’m paying $0.55/month, might be the latest example…we’ll see!
